Pleasant Grove Community:
We are excited and pleased to announce the hiring of Taylor Walkenhorst as the new head football coach at Pleasant Grove High School. Coach Walkenhorst brings 10 years of coaching experience, the last two as the defensive coordinator at Carlsbad High School, in Carlsbad, California. In 2019, he coached in the CIF championship game. Prior to coaching at Carlsbad High School he was the defensive coordinator at El Camino High School. Coach Walkenhorst has also coached the linebackers at Palomar Junior College and Arizona Western College. In addition, he had the opportunity to work with the football program at Weber State University as a Defensive Quality Control Coach. Coach Walkenhorst began his coaching career at his alma mater, Lone Peak High School. At Lone Peak he coached the offensive and defensive lines, linebackers, and was the special teams coordinator. He is excited to meet the players and get to work! Coach Walkenhorst will be on campus the week of April 19th, to meet the team and begin to prepare for the upcoming season.
